Tech tip: For WindowsXP users--If your system restore points aren't doing the job to fix your problem or you just want to be sure all's well:

Have your WindowsXP install CD handy and use the "sfc /scannow" command from the "run" line. It's the system file checker. Read more about it here.

Lots o people keep asking me about spyware etc.
Here's some very helpful links/suggestions if you want to tackle it yourself.

1. Download and run Ad-Aware.
2. Don't use Internet Explorer as an internet browser. get Firefox from mozilla: www.mozilla.org
3. If you're still stuck or interested: Spywareinfo.com
4. Sometimes Ad-Aware doesn't catch something that another program will catch. For more programs check out download.com's list.
5. Run the "msconfig" program from your start menu's "run" option. Under the "startup" tab you'll get to see all the programs that load up when the comp boots. If you know it's bad, unselect it. If you're unsure, to a google search to find out more.

Along the same thread, I'm looking at helping to establish another site specifically geared for the northwest gaming community. At that site we'd have Lan announcements, gamin news, server stats, forums, etc. Keep watch, hopefully it'll be up soon!
